2nd ACT Intergenerational Forum an outstanding success! Download MP3 Audio Recordings and PDF files from all the presentations and discussion forums using the links below The 2nd ACT Intergenerational Forum showcased the latest research in the field of ageing by Canberra students. This half-day forum successfully brought together people from a range of backgrounds including younger and older members of the Canberra community, health professionals, researchers, government officials and key stakeholders. This year's forum included 6 presentations from students covering a range of topics including: In addition, Emeritus Professor Sol Encel gave a fascinating keynote account on the sociology of baby boomers, letting us know that in fact, 'kids today' had been a subject of grumbling by their parents for at least the last 2000 years! Sol also discussed the darker side of the global financial crisis, and the effect this is having on retirement plans of many people from this generation. Finally, in the afternoon, we had two panel discussions, which engendered lively debate and exchante of ideas.
